MTB'n & Beer Is it in our genes?

I love to ride and love a good beer.
Seems like most on this site like really good beer - Guiness, brew pub style, local hand crafted etc.. some even brew their own as I once did.
Are we genetically pre-disposed to like both?

Does anyone here not like beer?

I sometimes ride with someone that loves the taste of beer but is actually alergic, and can't have more than a sip without his throat swelling up.

That would be my GF. She hates beer but can drink a number of hard liquors like a fish.

It's a family tradition with me.

I'm sure I could get under 200 lbs. if I stop drinking beer, but why? I feel good and I ride good.

genes.....dad's side is Irish (stout), mom's German (lager, pilsner, bock, hefe..) and a wee bit Scottish (a real McCoy)...so I'd say that i'd rather give fresh hops than roses to my wife....but she still wants the roses (and deserves it for putting up with me)
