I was given some good tickets to the Rose Parade and although I personally will avoid the crowds like a cancer, my girls wanted to go so we go our butts up early and had my cousin drop us off and pick us up just up the street (avoided parking). Used to do this as a kid (sleeping out all night, etc.) but haven't had much desire to return (even though I live there). We went and I actually enjoyed it. Mostly due to my kids but also due to to magnificent and vibrant colors the rose floats were presented in. Pretty cool stuff really. Stuff you don't really care much about nor notice as a kid. Anyways, no biggie, just thought I'd throw it out there and share.

Illi cheerleaders, very very hot! More pics here... http://www.socaltrailriders.org/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=1129&ppuser=1327

We usually ride over there, watch the parde then head home. I overslept and missed the ride. It's a lot more fun on a bike as you can cruise around and find a good place to watch it and there's no problem with parking or traffic.
Kind of bummed I missed it this year. The SC game was good though.

Not much for it these days. When I was a kid my dad used to wake me up early to watch it live rather than the multiple repeats during the day on every single channel (rather than KTLA today). I once paid to see the floats parked and that felt like the longest most crowded walk of my life. Never again.
