I'm making almost all the other parts myself too. I've been working on it for to long. Lost intrest a few times ect.

This safe and sane play boat needs a really long steering wheel post. That way if I get tossed out I don't break my legs on the dash (real common)

boring the end for UHMW bushings and drilling it for the shaft. Ever try to drill a hole that's 19" long? Not easy

installed, Not the blower and injector hat in the back ground. Saved for a blown alky flatbottom when I hit my mid life. haha

I still have it at my mom's house.

Is that a Schiada Dave?

I really used to be into tunnel hull outboards. I surprised quite a few old dudes with their big block flatties. One of my boats was on the cover of Hot Boat mag. I'll need to see if I can find that.

hey hey, easy on the flatties! I was a young guy back then and I don't remember getting surprised by you.

Gotta love a nasty outboard tunnel though. I grew up racing A stock ~ C hydro.

Here is the flat that used to wake you up at 5:45 AM.

Oh, and yes, it's a Schiada. Flat was a Hondo HX511. It's down in the Big River area now.

That's some serious motor. I'm doubting I surprised you. I could run in the 80's all day though. And yes, when I was hung over trying to sleep off the previous night I would be cussing you and your buddies at daybreak. Let me guess, you stayed at that park by Fox's?

OMG I hated you guys!!!....I'm a x-Parker house in the keys person and every morning...WITH the worst hangover, I'd lay and wish the engine gods would strike down on you crazy men!!! However.... once in a while...late afternoon...one of you would get drunk and try to drive those things on the chop, and flip it....and the next morning was just a liiiiiiiiiiiittle bit quieter.

I never drove mine or even had it in the water during the day...I put it in the water early morning and then pulled it out and polished er up for the sunset run/races....this is back in the 80's pre and post flood...NOW I would NEVER take a flatty near Parker these days...toooooooo many 30' wave makers running a muck and seadoos..

Not my fault you drank too much and were hungover hahaj/k

Good times. I'm right across from the Keys @ Riverland. You never get used to the 5am blown alarm clocks. Our revenge - watching the newbie flatty owners trying to fuel up at the gas dock. Every so often one would pull in pointed down river and the first big wake would swamp 'em. Yep, the management had scuba stuff to float the boat.

Default I made a plane once

For Senior Design last year we were tasked to design / make a radio controlled airplane that could exceed 100 knots (approx 110 mph). We designed and constructed this little Bada$$ out of carbon fiber and paper nomex.

planesmaller.jpg

It achieved approx 120 mph straight and level and was very manuverable.

(it also crashed going about 70mph into a tree due to a reciever mal function it was totaled)

I'm not a radio airplane guy but I had to do this go get my BS in Aerospace enineering so I did it.

In closing carbon fiber is about the coolest material ever
