as for Padre's pro-lycra anti-baggy short comment, I was thinking that the comment was a borderline flame around here (regardless of the waving smiley)- are there any STR regulars who are pro lycra?

I actually like the lycra, but generally keep it for road rides and solo journeys.
Speedos on the other hand....

Pro-Lycra? Yes, it's all I wear, mountain or road. Unless I'm doing a short commute to the bank, I ride in my kit.

It's more comfortable, more aero and it makes more sense for me. I really don't understand how baggy clothes on a bike are comfortable, but again, thats me.

Speaking of goofy dh gear, two years ago at Whistler I saw a troubling sight...

a guy with a full Dianese body armor suit OVER his jeans and t-shirt. I wonder if he lost a bet.

Lycra also goes under my dh shorts...

That's true, lycra and DH don't mix.

Yes, but only twice a week when I go and swim 1000 meters at the lap pool by my house.

Recreational swimming, "fully loop" swimming requires board shorts.

It's not about physical comfort, it's emotional comfort they're after.

Yeah...GHEY!
Although, my wife and I do have matching braces and crutches parked in the corner of the garage in case we are both incapacitated at the same time....again.

i give ryan mad props for shredding it up in his emo jeans. i;ve always been a fan of tighter jeans, on myself. it just makes all the other fully tricked out racers look like goons. =)
