So did you score on those XT cranks? What did you end up paying?

Where did you find x-7's at that price, I should buy a spare or two. If you want a Shimano HG 53 brand new, $16 and it's yours, I'll bring it the next time we ride. One of the nice things about SRAM cassettes is that they are made of some sort of spring steel alloy, that allows the teeth to give when shifting, so you don't bend them, as well as the carrier. The 980 is a pretty high end cassette from SRAM, light too, about 310 grams, I think.

We were lucky we had a bit of daylight left to get things done and get out of there before dark.

    Jeff,

With Ted's Boo boo, will you be working on it or the Chumba build on Saturday before going riding?

I'm heading out in about 1/2 an hour. I need to stay fairly local while the wife is here with the carpet cleaning guy. Call me if you can make it up.

Ted and I rode yesterday with three of his buddies. It was 95 when we left the parking lot. One of them yakked at the top of the climb :/ It was his first time trail riding although he does ride road with his dad. He starightened up after that and we had a good ride out until one of the others taco'd his front wheel playing around on the pavement about 1/2 mile from the parking lot. I stomped it back to where he could ride and we finished OK.

Also came across this on the road back by where they have been drilling:

From the blood on the pavement, it looks like it was a 'shovel job'.
