too bad you won't be home until July 6th. Any chance in returning before the 4th? Tim (Jasonmason) is planning to host a 4th of July ride in Black Star Cyn to Beeks and maybe Sierra Peak. Watch fireworks, enjoy a beverage, then ride back down in the dark.

After much consideration and discussion with senior STR members, I ditched the HJ night ride for good reasons. I need greater trail familiarity with Trabuco and there's exposure. I had 6 interested parties and several that agreed to sweep, but I don't want the responsibility of hosting & safely getting people up and back. Good lights for extended period are a necessity. Lights going out could be near disasterous. Perhaps Black Star is a better fit. July 18 & 19 is next full moon. Also, there's some good rides with IRC coming up: Fremont/Blind/Weir Canyon this Sunday AM and again in July.

Plan to come up if you can for STR Whiting Re-Opening ride. Of course, date is to be determined.

Also, I'm thinking about a crazy night ride up Holy Jim. Looking for a brave man to lead it. Let me know if that's appealing.
