Default Romic 8.75 x 2.75

Just as the titles states I'm on the look out for a 8.75 x 2.75 Romic.

Sorry for being ignorant (although I probably shouldn't be), with all of the good shocks available on the market, why do you want a Romic?

I'm sure you shouldn't have any problems finding blown or otherwise bad Romics that you can have rebuilt.

Yup picking up a trail bike, 2006 Specialized Enduro. With a 8.75 x 2.75 shock it will have the same amount of travel as the SX model.

How are you liking the AS-X so far?

Figure I could buy a blown one and have it rebuilt for far less than buying a DHX or ROCO. I had a Romic on my old KHS FR2000 and loved it. They are awesome shocks and are cheap to have rebuilt ($30 or so).

If I can't find a suitable Romic then I'll buy a ROCO TST.

Ok...gotcha...so I guess I did understand your plan. I remember friends having them and constantly blowing them and having them rebuilt. They finally gave up and bought newer/better shocks. I really don't know why they were blowing so much, but are there newer/better seals for them?

I too loved the Romic and sitting on a blown shock off my Giant AC. Contemplating on whether I should get it rebuilt or not. I did put a call in a while ago to Romic and it took them more than a week to respond.

When I bought my KHS the shock was blown. After I had rebuilt with the "Big Boy" setting it was butter. Nice and wide but very usable compression and rebounds ranges and it floated over everything. I ran it for almost a year before I sold the shock since I didn't need it.

Hopefully I can find one sitting around and put it good use on my Enduro.

From what I understand they are pretty much out of the MTB business. They are concentrating on making shocks for 50's and ATVs. However, they are still offering rebuilds.

I believe Darren of PUSH fame actually designed the shock.

I sent my romic out for a rebuild a few weeks ago. I'm hoping someday I might see it again.
