Default 20% off at Performance

Just passing on this info: Right now if you use their coupon code 6002415 you get 20% off on orders 100 bucks or more. I've been interested in purchasing the NiteRider MiNewt X2 dual lights and with the discount ($46) they come out to $184. I know its going to get darker quicker real soon so for those in the market for a new lighting system this might save ya some change. Hurry though the 20% only works till tomorrow.
P.S. I am in no way affiliated with Performance. I just like saving money and I'm sure you guys do too

Hey I just got the MiNewt.x2 Duals as well. How do you like them? I haven't done a night ride yet, but they seem plenty bright. I did a duration test and they lasted nearly 2 hours at full power (rated for 1:45).

I might combine these lights with a TriNewt when that comes out. I don't want to ride off a cliff at night!

I've been running the Minewt for about a year. Very happy with it. I primarily run it on my road bike and use my HID Enduropro for MTB. Put then together and it works really good, but I still have some problems with depth perception.

I'm really amazed at this company. They buy a successful business like Supergo who carried all the top name brands and then they stop selling these same things that made Supergo great. Don't they realize that other LBS's will fill the void. Look at The Path, along with Adrenalin and even Jenson. I'll spend my money there first. Some idiot thought they'd get rid of their competeion and that by default they'd just scoop up the business.

Not to beat dead horses (but how often do you actually get to beat a horse dead or alive?)...

I would rather wait, or pay more, whatever, than go to the Home Depot of bike shops. It's hard to have some overweight dumbass look at me cross-eyed when I ask them a mildly technical question about a product and then once the glaze settles over have them pass off some b.s. shlock to sell me on it. I feel like those guys would sell me a beach cruiser to compete in downhill if they thought I would fall for it.

I'm with you on this. Hopefully I will never, ever step inside a store like that again! Even Supergo was "pushing it" for me.

The service you get from the "little guys" way makes up for the discount you get from stores like Performance.

This is just my opinion. If someone does shop at those stores, it's all good. I just won't do it.

Kind of like the reason I won't shop at Wal-Mart. However, that's an entirerly different subject.

I agree with ya' on the whole WalMart thing. That place blows. But it seems like I stirred up some people by posting this Performance thread in the beginning. Next time I'll just keep the 411 to myself

P.S. Now that I truly know what mountain biking is and have experienced it over the summer I too think Performance is a joke.

they're really not that evil...they just fill a void...just like walmart fills a void in the retail scheme of things. some people just deal better going to places like performance than going to a small ma and pa shop.

Thanks for the info, and please feel free to pass along anything you wish. I just hate to see things happen the way they did and for no other reason then to make a buck (usually at our expense). Didn't mean for you to think we weren't apprecative.

I look at it like this:

Everyone is entitled to my opinion!

LOL

Look, it's not a big deal at all. I am sure someone thought it was cool that you posted it. Maybe I should not have put my .02 cents in?!?!

No harm, no foul

Welcome to the obsessive world of mountain biking!

I think it's good you stirred things up. These forums sometimes end up being more like a replacement for email than actual forums. I think it's totally cool that you can put something up like that and get such a flurry of diverse responses. It's what makes this site truly interesting. So, don't stop postin' stuff!
