So I've got this great bike that doesn't quite fit me. I've tried all kinds of stem / bar / seat combos and it's just too small. It has been sitting in my garage for about a year watching the 29er's roll in and out. I've borrowed its brakes, wheels, stem, etc for other frames as needed, all the while it sat quietly collecting dust. This is a plush, smooth, agile, fun bike, but I just can't get comfortable pedaling it. It doesn't inspire me to hammer and attack the hills like I like to do.
I thought I would keep it as a loner bike for family and friends. However, nobody ever seemed to want to get up at 7 am with me to ride, so the bike that was a loner always ended up alone. ![]() Now the fork needs new seals and the bottom bracket sometimes pops, and I keep meaning to fix it up, but there is always that jug of Cytomax, or that sale on tubes that keep the bike money from finding it's way to the little white bike. I have tried once on Craigslist to trade it for an XL Epic. That would have worked if I was willing to drive it to 5 hours up north, which (my family) wasn't. ![]() You can see from the pics that the brakes are missing (the front are on the workbench and the rear are still on the Kona Unit 2-9, waiting to be replaced by some Avid BB7s) I've thought about just selling the frame, fork, cranks, front derailleur/shifter as a package because I can use the other stuff on other bikes. I'm still looking for a frame trade option before I am ready to sell it even though I may have to pay money to even the trade. I would like an XL 04 or later Epic with a brain that has some adjustability. I don't want any 26er forks because my plan is to ride it with a 29er wheel/fork on the front. It has to be an XL because otherwise it would still be too small.Feel free to PM me with any comments. Last edited by LBmtb; 09-03-2007 at 06:41 PM. |

As Necros pointed out, the brakes were taken off and the fork has been worked on. There is also no front rotor on as well. I had a moment to go outside when the sun as just coming up in front of my house and I would have had to take off the bars to get the shifters on the correct sides.
These were "Test" pics to check camera lens and exposure numbers for when I take another set of pics if this bike goes on Ebay. Anyways, here are the prices for the bike: Frame (w/headset) / fork / XT cranks / XT Front Der (with Shifter and cable) / Salsa Seat Collar / Seat post = $500 Hayes Hydro Brakes / XTR Rear Der (with shifter and cable) = $600 Front wheel (w skraxle skewer and new Nevegal)/ Rear Wheel (Brand new from the Path, was a takeoff of new Stumpjumer) with Trailbear tire/ Ti Terry Fly Saddle / Oury Lock-on Grips /carbon bars / stem = $700 PM me if you are interested and I can give further details.
