i think 4-strokes all have the green, the only ones with red stickers are the 2 stroke, but older 2-strokes have green stickers

That's not true. Starting around 2003, many of the 4-strokes intended for track use (Yamaha YZ, Honda CRF, etc.) were red sticker bikes. Also, the Yamaha WR was a red sticker bike until about 2005. Although that was the general requirements, the DMV often screwed up, sending green stickers to the owners of red-sticker 4-stroke bikes.
