Question Wtb Trunk Mount Bike Carrier

I just sold my Honda civic which I used to just fold down the back seat and shove my bike in thru the trunk but now I have a better car well any car is better but the back set will not fold down(it sucks) and I just got a few friends into MTB. So I am looking to buy at least a 3 bike but would like a 4 bike. I drive 97 Maxima now. Any suggestions???

I have looked only line but some say that they are not good for y shape frames. I ride an IRON HORSE ANIKI, I am still new myself.

Iron Horse shout out for DINO BROWN

go to Yakima.com and see what it takes to build a rack for your car, then scour the net for people selling parts and you should be able to swing a roof rack for 100-150.... I got mine for about 150....

First off, allow me to congratulate you on a fine choice in bicycles!!!

... Yakima.com... Thulegroup.com.... RackAttack.com- you should check them all out.

1) Are you looking specifically for a trunk mounted rack? Roof rack? Hitch mounted rack?

2) If you purchase a rack that attaches over the wheels (rather than the top tube) the frame type won't matter. Examples.. Yakima Hookup and Thule T2.

3) Standard rack? Funky top tube? A few more options...
Yakima Tubetop - Yakima Rack Accessories
Thule 982 Frame Adapter for Bike Racks - Thule Rack Accessories

4) None of these suckers believe me- WE ARE TAKING THIS WEBSITE OVER.... 1 BIKE AT A TIME!!!! A name change is not too far off... socalironhorseriders.org

Good timing, i just got a new car and want to sell my rack. My wife got me a Saris Bones (3 bike) rack for the trunk at Christmas at performancebike, I've used it a couple dozen times so it's still in great shape.

There are two issues, 1) it rubbed the trunk of my car and some of the paint came off - so if you can figure out that one it'll be good, 2) the arms flare out and it's tough putting full squish bikes on there.

PM me if you are interested

Bob
