2006 IH MK III Comp 19"
This bike has less then 50 miles on it. It was originally intended for me, but a month later I got a great deal on a MKIII Team and coul not pass it up. I figured I could take the opportunity to upgrade my wife, and replace her IH Sinister, the problem is that this bike is just too big for her. I hate to sell it, because its a great bike but need the funds to get her a 17" rig. The DW link is an absolute animal when it comes to climbing, feels like a hardtail. I use my Team in all conditions and its a fantastic bike. The price on this setup in 2006 was 2200 dollars. The 07 model is about the same. I live in Aliso Viejo. Here are the specs. Specifications Frame: 5" TRAVEL DW-LINK TRAIL FRAME, 1 1/8' ZERO STACK HEAD TUBE, REPLACEABLE DERAILLEUR HANGER Fork: ROCK SHOX REVALATION 409, DUAL AIR, 130MM TRAVEL Rear Shock: MANITOU RADIUM R AIR, 7.5" EYE TO EYE X 2" STROKE Front Derailleur: SRAM X-GEN Rear Derailleur: SRAM X.7 Shifters: SRAM X.7 TRIGGER Brakes Levers: HAYES HFX-9-XC Brakes: HAYES HFX-9 DISC W/ 6" ROTOR Chain: SRAM PC-951 W/ POWERLINK Crankset: TRUVATIV FIREX, GIGA-X Cassette: SRAM PG-950, 11X34, 9 SPEED Pedals: Performance Bike (Store Brand) Platforms Bottom Bracket: TRUVATIV GIGA-X Headset: FSA ORBIT Z, SERO STACK Saddle: WTB ROCKET V COMP Seat Post: EASTON EA30 Handlebar: EASTON EA30 DB LOW RISE, 31.8MM CLAMP Grips: RUBBER Stem: EASTON EA30, 31.8MM CLAMP Tires: WTB WEIRWOLF 2.35" DNA CASING Wheelset: 32 HOLE ALLOY DISC HUBS, DT SWISS X455 RIMS, DT SWISS COMP SPOKES 1.8/2.0 Weight: N/A Color: PEARL GREEN |

depends on how you are built... the effective top tube is 23.25" on the 19" frame and 22.5" on the 17" frame.. i'm about your size and i'd get the 17" mainly due to seat tube length and being able to put the seat down more. I also like a shorter top tube. If you have a performance bike local, they always have a few mkIII's in stock to sit on

I am 5'11 and ride a 19" MKIII Team right now, its perfect for me. Its a personal preference, but I would rather not have my seat all the way up to compensate for a smaller bike. TK Blazer is right, go into a Performance bike shop and sit on a 19 and a 17 inch MK III. The one in Laguna is pretty cleaned out, its actually quite dissappointing, but the Fountain Valley store has quite a few, I was there yesterday, checking out road bikes, but thats a whole different thread. If it fits, let me know, I'll cut you a good deal. ![]() I can't say enough good things about this DW link frame. |

I am 5'10" and ride a 19" MKIII Team. The fit is absolutely spot on! Due to the fact I normally run my bikes a bit undersized, I was expecting to purchase the 17"-- wrong!!!
Parking lot test both sizes! Unless you have short legs, I am fairly certain the 17" will feel a bit cramped. Note- I did swap out the 100mm+ stem for a 70mm X4. The shorter stem has actually improved climbing AND descending! Just my opinion. Reasons to consider the bike--- DW-LINK - Home |

Dino - You know they usually put old horses out of their misery, melt parts of them down and turn them into glue.....;-)

![]() The definition of Iron Horse is a "vehicle consisting of a light frame mounted on two wire-spoked wheels one behind the other and having a seat, handlebars for steering, brakes, and two pedals that all other brands anxiously hope to avoid being passed by on a trail." Lou Gehrig was nicknamed the Iron Horse. He played in 2,130 consecutive baseball games. Iron Horse's are quite famous for inflicting misery on those who stand in their way! As for melting, the only thing that melts is a rider's ego when the IRON HORSE and I blow by them on a climb... on a descent... on a long ride.. on a short ride.... ![]() |

BOATS- I would expect that type of "horribly" insensitive response from Keith B--- but you?!?!
I ..... I ...... I ...... It feels like a family member stabbed me in the back. ![]() You disgust me! How I can overcome this, I DO NOT know................... Hey wait, I just thought of a way. Drop me a couple of "THANKS" (i.e. previous post as well as this one) and we will put the past behind us. ![]() |
