You won't be able to stick a helmet in the compartment but might be able to find a way to attach it to the outside. The older model MULE's were easier to attach things like pads and helmets because they had bungees.

HAWG is a great backpack. I love mine. Lots of room if you need it or it collapses down easily. Highly recommended.

So, to sum up your review... good backpack, bad water carrier. Let me run right out and pick one up! FWIW, the HAWG has straps on the side to put leg armor. It won't hold a full-face helmet, though. Seems to me if you're riding far enough that you don't want to wear the helmet then you should probably get a lighter helmet and ride more carefully. Or, maybe I should just f**k off.

I have the Hyper 3.0 and I love it. You can get into the pockets without taking it off, has tons of room, bungie cord and it's really comfortable.

i have nomad as well and like it. A bit heavier than the CB blowfish (a few years old) i was using before but appears more durable and has straps and pocket for helmet and armor. took a few rides to break in the back padding but once "flexes" up it's all good

I love the Nomad, no leaks so far and tons of space. Perfect pack for the shuttle rides. Only complaint is the lack of small pockets inside. Picked mine up at the STR swapmeet for only $15.
