Considering your weight I think that's a really good deal if you are looking for lightness. I'm not sure how they'll hold up over the long run though. Should be okay though.

Oops read it again, that's for one wheel? If it is, I'd rather go with the American Classics. You can probably find them for around 5oo, if you got a good LBS, maybe cheaper. I did.

For your price range, go to the Path, tell them what you can spend and ask what they can do.
You'll end up with a bulletproof set of wheels.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I went with the DT Swiss 240s and XR4.1d rims. I was able to get front and rear for $400 so I jumped on it.

Good choice. Nice, light and fast. Pretty good price as well. The hubs alone retail for $350.

Thank you for the recommendation, and everyone else too. It probably would have cost me a couple hundred more if I went with the Crossmax XL's and I wouldn't have had as good, or as light, a set of wheels.

I love my Crossmax SL's very much. They werent cheap but the freehub body needed replacing after only 9months (about 1500miles) use. Having said that they're very light, very stiff and roll very well.

Default Great XC wheelset

I've had CrossMax XL's and they DO have sh*t hubs that make the spokes pop and ping - not to mention the suckers flex like no other.
Replaced them with these:
Bontrager :: Race X Lite TLR Disc
Hugi hubs w/DT Swiss spokes on a tubeless rim (approx. 1570g). I weigh 150lbs. and been on them for almost a year with zero problems or flex. They're on my hardtail but I've also run them on my Enduro to get a little more speed occasionally.

That's funny. I gave my wife my set of DT 240/Mavic 217(yes the old ones) disc wheels since I was running a SS 29er. Just last week I put a set of the Race X Lites disc on my Chameleon. They were just as nice as the wheels I gave my wife.
