Default WTB:RF Turbine or Next

Im looking for a decent set of Race Face Turbine LP or Next LP cranks. Needs to be 94bcd(compact) and preferably square taper.

I need them badly for my 2x9!!

Thanks!

Good luck, you are not alone, many of us are hoarding those. I tried for months on E-Bay to get a set of square taper compact cranks. Finially bit the bullet and bought a set of Middleburns.

Middleburn Link here. Great cranks!

Race Face Next cranks I found:
eBay: Race Face NEXT LP CRANKSET & Taperlock TI BB (item 120062566739 end time Dec-12-06 18:09:00 PST)

eBay: NOS Raceface Next LP Crankset and chainrings AL/Carbon (item 170056243752 end time Dec-10-06 16:15:11 PST)

If they are not the color you want Ikon powder coating can re powder coat them for you
Ikon Powder Coating Inc - Protective Coatings for Industrial and Commercial Applications

And if you call race face they will send you new decals

I absolutely agree with buying the middleburns. They make a great product. So does crank bros (the new cobalt sl) and FSA among others. But since he said that he needed RF Next cranks, I figured he might want to take a look at them

Hey, well i actually won a set this afternoon! They're Sid Blue Turbines, appear to be in decent shape.. i jumped in at about 45sec left and snaged them for 69 bucks! Im pretty stoked..

SAR, Im not to stoked on the color, so i may check on the PC option, otherwise id like to look at anodising. I would go for either a clear ano or if i was really feeling brave, gold...

Other question would be, how bad does raw alu. corrode? Does it need a clear ano or clear coat?

Good job Brad, appearantly you are more presistent than I am. You could try polishing them out and run them raw. Lots of dremmel time.

The place I posted a link to, Ikon Powdercoating, does anodizing too. Raw aluminum doesn't really corrode. It does corrode around salt water and if you are running steel chain rings you may experience a phenomonon known as bi-metallic corrosion which it where 2 different metals are in constant contact with one another, creating an electrical charge due to the molecular differences between the two causing the weaker of the two metals to corrode (in this case the aluminum). Corrosion on aluminum (either from the element or bi-metallic corrosion) will display itself as a white powder on the metal that is easily rubbed off and possibly black discoloration of the aluminum that does not rub off. Both of those would be removed prior to anodizing when you send them in so if you want to run them bare you can, and just send them in for anodizing once they are hosed.

Default you mean like this?

the raw alu finish holds up fine, just hit it with some mother's and a little elbow grease when it gets dull. I used paint stripper, then took them down to my local motorcycle shop, where they polished them up on their wheels in about 15 mins.
