Default Lights Q?

Hey all long time no see, retail hell is almost over which means no more 48+ hour weeks and school is almost out too, So I will soon be able to hit the trails again.

Well I have been wanting to join the InCycle Mon. night rides, but I wanted to get some lights first. What do you guys/gals think of these Laseredge lights?

Get an HID. It cost a little more but worth it. Some can be had for less than $300.

Pretty shaky looking to me. But, they could be okay. I have Cygolite LED. It does okay, although I've only been off-road with it once or twice. I think the HIDs are nice and bright, too, but they are pricey. I've been looking at the Luxeon LEDs. They aren't cheap, either, though. Dinotte makes some real nice lights.

HID is the way to go, if you got the money! Otherwise LED is a great deal. The niterider classic is relly bright for being a LED light. My buddy has it and it is the light I have been considering. Just over 200 bucks, but when the bulbs burn out, it's a lot cheaper to replace!! LED lights are cheap where HID light bulbs are like 100 bucks each.

HUH????

The Niterider CLassic Plus is a halogen light. YOu have to step way up in price$499+ with Niterider to get LED's on the lights.

Been running a NR Blowtorch for the last 5 years without any issues. Bought my wife a Flamethrower last year and is even nicer.

NITERIDER CLASSIC PLUS '06 at JensonUSA.com

$221, yeah its led, replacing bulbs is cheaper too and its still quite bright, not as bright as an HID, but i've used it before and didn't find myself wishing for my light (well except for the sun)

Also saw this one which seems like a deal for LED lights, never see anyone using it though

Sorry still a little confused. Not sure where you are getting that these lights are LED.

"The Classic Plus offers a reliable dual-lamp design that's proven itself over the years. The halogen bulbs feature 3 light output levels: 12w, 20w, or 32 watts. Handlebar mount so you can direct the light just where you need it. The 4.0Ah NiMh battery straps to your frame. Remote handlebar mounted on/off switch lets you change it up without taking your hands off the grips."

There's a big difference between halogen and L.E.D. Completely different technology and performance.

For off-road use, LED's at least in their current form are not a good choice. Spend the money and get an HID. Rarely is anyone sorry they bought the best.

As long as you don't need a Li Ion battery, there are some deals out there.

Niterider Moab is my light-HID this season.....if at all possible spend the money and get the best light you can.

The Moab seems to just keep going and going. I've been notorious for not remembering to charge my battery, so the Moab was definitely a good choice for me as well.
