Talking Upgrading my stock 29er Wheels

Yes thats right!! I finally collected enough pesos to waste on some nice bike parts n-ewho I may need to replace the wheelS soon but not sure what to go with. friends tell me to go with the DT hubb but than others tell me to just go w/the CKs or Hadleys. Whats better for the SS 29er thing? does Hope make anything nice for the SSers? Some dood said to just go w/the I9s to save money on the long run! please anything to help this 29er noob would be greatly appreciated!!

Are are going free wheel or free hub?

Free hub, Chris King with funbolts. Don't let the naysayers scare you off with the King hub adjustment scare. I have ground down a Allen Wrench and I do not need to remove the rotor to adjust it.

Free Wheel, Paul Word Hub, Phil Wood, White Industries. With a free wheel does not make that much difference as long as you use a White Industies free wheel.

Front hub who cares...not that important, although you may care about the weight.

I have had both, much easier/cheaper to change gearing....a ton easier to get your chainline right with a free hub.

Those hubs are going to cost more than what he paid for the whole bike.

You are right, then he needs keep what he has because it would not be a upgrade. The best deal I know of is someone that bought a Niner with a wheel set and now wants to sell the American Classics off.

Niner Bikes. $400.00 when you buy a frame from them.

That's Fo's bike! 18lbs. Pace fork has a 220 lbs weight limit.

Better yet....buy mine (the one pictured)! It is for sale again as of this morning (I know...I am a friggin schizo).

To make a long story short....I have a new bike "project" I cant help but do (i am a weak pathetic man) based on what is sound logic to me at least

anyways, the wife almost killed me when i said a "new" bike....so, i decided this morning that as much as i love the One 9, if i sell it, i can probably get the new one and not get yelled at too much since i will just say i misunderstood the wife.......my interpretation is that I could not "add" a bike but I am replacing it

Question

OK!! I'm somewhat 100% on the hubs and maybe the builder. Now the question is. What type of Rim should work better for the 29er thing. I'm going cheap on this too but I want something strong and light! what do u guys think? Fo, Dean, Clyde? Dt swiss tk7.1 or Mavic 719a?

I am running Mavic 719a's only because when I had my wheels built nothing else was available without a long wait. My first choice was Salsa Delgato's....did not want to wait.

Wait, Interbike is going on right now...we may have some new stuff to pick from. The Path is closed this week while they are at Interbike, Tani will have the 411 on the new stuff.

Jose, looks like you are commiting to the whole 29'er thing. I would sell the Redline and get a new On One frame w/ the American Classic wheels or one of the new 29'ers with better components. Just my opinion of course.
