Default Beach Cruiser Anyone?

I'm looking for an old beach cruiser to ride around town. Anyone have a used one taking up space in the garage they want to sell?

I only went online today and didn't have much luck. I'm going to pick up the Recycler tomorrow. I did look on Craig's list also and found a pink one. I'm not really into pink so I didn't call. But the price was good.

Your in HB, try calling Bicycle Discovery and see if they are blowing any cheap cruisers out for the incoming '07 inventory....

Thanks! I didn't even think of them. I went to Let It Roll down in Newport and they were pretty expensive for a beach cruiser. I'll check em' out today.

Thanks. I hate to admit I just went to Walmart and got a Huffy really cheap. I was thinking of maybe turning it into a single speed eventually...

What I would love to do is find a really nice quality cruiser frame and build it up with mountain bike parts minus the suspension fork. Like use mtb rims and a SS hub, etc....

Unfortunatly it seems all the cruiser frames out there are kinda crappy.. Does anyone know of companies that make good cruiser frames??

What's the name of that one company, Electra? Aren't cruisers their bread and butter?

i recently bought one of those black Huffy "cranbrooks" or something like that. I rode it once and returned it. the rear hub sounded nasty when coasting. i also checked out about 6 others on the floor when i returned it and all the wheels were wobbley...which wasnt that big of a deal, but the squeeling hub is what i couldn't live with.

im thinking of checking out some of those shops in newport too.

Yeah, the Huffy wasn't the greatest even when I looked at in the store. However, I got it to put a basket on the front and ride around the beach with my two pugs. Now, if money weren't an issue I'd get that niner frame on here for sale and slap a wire basket on it...

You're going to pay at least 10% more for anything along the beach. Electra has some pretty nice stuff, but if it was me I'd look to build my own. The old schwinns are hard to come buy, but there are a lot of knock offs which might be worth the effort of building up or just buying. I'm kind of looking myself, so if I see anything I'll let you know.

Ebay had a lot of old classic cruisers. Some were already fixed up and there were a lot that needed work. I just didn't have the patience to wait through an auction.

Switchback in Orange has a lot of cruisers too. I've never looked at the pricing but they move a ton of them. Best part is they are put together by a good LBS.
