Ya, but with gas as cheap as it is, I figure, why not Plus, I have to go to Wheel World, so I'm going to be out-and-about anyway. I'm hoping to find some good deals on jerseys. I haven't bought any new ones in awhile.

Yes I did. I can't wait to build it up. I was actually able to round up a decent parts spec for not too much $$.

Parts Spec:
Fork: '05 Fox Vanilla R 130mm (got it off Ebay for $150)
Shock: Manitou Swinger 3-Way (stock on frame)
Derailluers fr/rr: Shimano XT
Crankset: Shimano LX w/ integgrated BB
Cassette: Shimano XT (new from the mechanic at my LBS for $20)
Shifters: Shimano Deore (Jenson USA for $25)
Brakes: Shimano Deore hydraulics (stock off my primary ride, which I replaced with XT hydros)
Seatpost: Easton EA50
Stem: Thomson (picking up from Rob on Saturday)
Bars: Easton EA70 (picking up from Rob on Saturday)
Wheels: Sun Rhino Lite XL, handlaced with DT Swiss spokes, Shimano XT hubs (kind of heavy but handlaced and bomb proof, plus the mechanic at my LBS is selling them to me for $200 for the set)

sweet build, i tore down my tracer and swapped all the parts over that i could. I ended up buying a new fork and wheelset to complete the bike. It pedals pretty well for the amount of travel it has. Just watch the brake line routing as when the suspension compresses, it kinks the hose and makes it stick outward. Also there is a lot of chain slap under the right chainstay pivot if you're in granny gear. anyhow you can't go wrong with that frame for the money. good pick up

George,

If you read this before you head out, bring the Vanilla with you. I'll have the other bike in the back of my bro's truck. We'll probably get out there around 10am

Wow, what a sale!! I was able to pick up some good stuff. The best was a Jamis Dakar frame, w/ 5" Fox Vanilla coil over shock, Truvativ Fire X cranks ans Isis BB for $70!! Their explanation of the low price, was that somebody cranked the crank bolts too tight and they were frozen and would need to be drilled out. Well, even if that was the case, drilling those out is a 10 minute job, so my dad and I both got one.

When we got home, we hooked up my dad's air-impact wrench and popped them all loose in about 1 minute--no drilling required. We then transferred all the parts over from our old Trek 4500 HT's and BOOM--new FS back-up bikes instead of old HT's!! Everything transferred over so easy. My seatpost was even the right size. The only thing that didn't work, was the rear brake cable (we run mech discs) was about 5 inches too short. However--all the housing segments were the same on each frame, so that was cool.

After that we built up the Reign frame I picked up from Wheel World. I would post pics, but we were up so late building bikes, I just slept at my dad's and my camera is at home. I'm going to take the Reign out this afternoon on its maiden voyage and I'll post pics of both bikes when I get home tonight.
