You are prob more likely to get around $900 for it as the bike is basically stock and Specialized has updated the Stumpjumper geometry which people now like more. Try Ebay and Craigslist. That front fork alone shows that you put some HARD miles on this bike. I've had bikes for years and never had that many dings on the front fork, lol. They are nice bikes I am sure someone will snag it up depending on how flexible you are!

Actually I just sold my 04 for $1350. But that had almost no scratches on it. I would be a little slow to spend if the fork looked that scratched up. That looks like it's seen some rocks.

I would try Craigslist. I know people from all over look on that site for bikes. Even if you just list in OC, LA, and SD.

ok, marked down to $1,000. surely someone will take advantage of this sweet deal. next step is ebay, but would much rather see it go to someone from the STR family.

Actually I bought that exact bike from a shop in Park City as a demo bike for $800 (mine was a med though). The condition mine is in looks to be slightly better, but you get an idea what they are selling for and that's from a shop not a private owner. Just my 2 cents.

Hmm the expert version of this bike in 06 msrps at 2800. It is kind of hard to believe a "shop" would sell there demo for 800 even though it is a 2006 and last generation frame. I would think the "shop" would part it out or sell it on Ebay. Maybe you are talking about a lower model Stumpjumper FSR.

This bike is a steal at anything around a grand, I think.

I have an '04 Stumpy Comp that I wouldn't sell for that cheap.

The Fox talas alone is worth half the bike.

P.S. I don't know the seller, just a fan of the bike. I would buy it, but wife got me an Epi for xmas.... more to that story in a few days.

No, its that actual one. I thought $800 was kind of low and that's why I purchased it. It was was of their demo bikes and at the end of summer they were blowing out their inventory to prepare for winter since in Park City sales pretty much end when winter starts. I ride in the area and many of the members here have witnessed the bike. I'm not saying $1000 isn't fair either, just pointing out that that is what I paid for a used one and there were other ones too. California might be a different market too, but if you search ebay, 2006 bikes go for pretty cheap.

However did you get all those scratches on the side of the fork? It looks like it fell off your bike rack and dragged behind your car on the freeway

the pix makes it look worse than it really is. i guess im just not that talented. but seriously, the fork works great. the people that have come to see the bike dont really notice the scratches on the fork, but i felt i had to show them in the add.

Good luck to you. I didn't want to discourage you, I was just pointing out my experience so you can get a better idea of the marketplace. That said, I still think $1000 is a great deal.

Especially since you don't need to go to Park City Utah to buy the bike.
