Is the MKIII burly enough or should I be looking for something stouter?

I don't have the advantage of having the other bike like you, so I want it to be as versatile as possible.

Aaron, what are those bikes going to give you that the Kona didn't have? Those bikes are also 40 pounds and I'd like to be on something noticeably lighter.

Everyone else, do you have a 26" bike that you'd like to swap for a medium Voodoo Canzo 29er. If so, Ricky would appreciate it if you contacted him.

MkIII is pretty burly they use it for dual slalom and 4x but I Know People have broke them, a 6 point is burley and can be used as a DH bike

Go back to your original intent and get the Pitch. It's such a versatile bike. I absolutely love mine. Iron Horse's future in warranty issues is definitely in question (great bikes, and i should know cuz i own one), but they're exiting their pact with Dave Weagle of DW fame and appear to be heading downmarket. Go with the proven FSR design and a solid company that you know is gonna have replacement frame parts on hand down the line, just in case.

You make a good argument. I'm not doing anything for a few weeks, so I have more time to research, rethink, over-think, second-guess, etc... It's a specialty of mine.

So far I think the Pitch and the Heckler look to be good choices. They're lighter than the other bikes and seem to be relatively strong and have good warranties. They are also in the right price range.

Oh yeah, anyone have a 26" bike they want to trade for a medium Canzo. Talk to Ricky.

I agree, but the price is out of my budget. I think of the Heckler as a lower price Nomad in the same kind of way that the Pitch is a lower priced Enduro. I'd rather have the Nomad, but it's not in my budget. :-(

I'm thinking about it pretty seriously. I have some friends who have Enduros and love them. The Pitch is pretty similar and not so pricey. I also prefer the single crown fork. Sometimes with their bikes I have problems on tight technical stuff.

Aaron, we could be team Pitch.

I guess that would make us the pitchers and Sam and Ricky the catchers. Er, em, I meant we could drink the pitchers. Yea that's it.

How much did his Kona have? I haven't had a FS bike for a while except for my short lived Fisher HiFi 29er and it felt extremely cushy. For almost all of the riding I do I can't imagine needing more than 6", but maybe if I had more I would find different stuff to ride.
