Default Specialized Epic Medium $900

Edit - Sold

For Sale: 2003 Specialized Epic Disk - Medium.

I'm listing this here before MTBR or ebay in hopes it can be sold local and maybe to someone I know.

Bike bought new in Feb 2004 and ridden regularly until August 2005. Since then pretty infrequently. Everything is stock on the bike except Specialized carbon bars, Easton carbon post, XT level bottom bracket, Enduro fork seals and XTR chain.

This is a great bike for someone coming off a hardtail or looking for a very efficient XC rig. There are a couple minor scratches and the cranks show some wear on the anodizing from normal riding. Otherwise in very good condition.

New retail was $2600, I'd like to get $900. Included is an extra rear der. hangar, the stock bars, post and all manuals.

Edit - Also included are two new sets of Shimano brake pads.

Build list:

Rear shock: Fox Brain shock
Fork: Fox F80RL (new seals and oil change)
Brakes: Shimano Deore hydraulic 6" rotors
Front derailleur: Shimano LX
Rear derailleur: Shimano XTR
Shifters: Shimano LX
Cassette: Shimano LX
Cranks: Specialized Strongarm 7050
Pedals: Shimano 515 clipless
Wheelset: Mavic X223 rims, Specialized Stout front hub, Shimano Deore rear hub. DT Swiss 1.8 spokes with alloy nipples.
Tires: Kenda Blue Groove 2.1 DTC front, Kenda Nevegal 2.1 DTC rear. Nearly new condition.

Please PM with any questions.

Thanks for looking

I will vouch for Craig on this bike, it is in really good condition. I've ridden it around briefly and it is very quick to accelerate. It will make a great first FS rig and/or race bike for somebody!

I borrowed this bike for a couple weeks. The thing climbs amazing. You could ride all day in the Santa Ana's with it! Good luck selling it Craig.

I ride an '05 epic, my first FS bike after 14 years on a '91 stumpjumper and I love it. It's a great XC bike. Have you had any problems with the Brain? Mine isn't locking anymore after 800+ miles.

Please tell me you still have the '91 Stumpy. My first was a '93 Rockhopper, and I really wish I had enough to have bought a Stumpjumper. I was an idiot and sold it anyway.

I have a "04 Epic Marathon with ~2800-2900 miles on it. it still works fine, i the pressure checked on it occasionally.

I still have it. I still love to ride it. It just flows on single tracks and its really light. I haven't found the same feeling on my epic, but then i haven't been riding it for 14 years either.

I checked the pressure and added more. Maybe it can't handle my fat arse.
