Okay, I really want to move this thing out of my garage. I listed it at $1100, dropped it to $900, and am dropping it again to $700 for the package. Hopefully someone will pick up a great frame / parts.
I bought this 2005 Ellsworth Dare from a well known bike shop owner about 18-months ago. The original setup had 8-inches of travel, but I wanted something slightly lower and slacker. We put a shorter eye-to-eye shock (from 8.75x2.75 to 8.5x2.5). Essentially the final geometry with a Totem (565 a-c) was: HA: 66-deg Seat Angle: 73-deg BB: 13.9-inch Rear travel approx 7.25-inch Effective TT – 22.5-inches Standover – TONS of it! (probably 28 or 29-inches) I had it built up with at 37-lbs with the Totem, UST tires, Hone cranks, Hone derailleur, and Hadley’s on 5.1d rims. I’m selling it! It’s a beautiful bike with a true horst link 4-bar suspension (think Rogue w/ slightly shorter top tube). It’s got a Saint specific rear end (read no derailleur hanger). Here’s the package: Frame: Small 2005 Dare w/ Saint specific rear end (22.5-inch eff tt) Derailleur: Hone rear derailleur (included) Shifter: Saint rear shifter (has seen plenty of action and may need to be replaced sooner or later). Cranks: Saints (175mm) Chain Guide: Race Face Diabolus The frame itself is in mint condition! It came from the factory with a small blem in the downtube (it won’t show up in pics, but I figured I should be as up front as possible). The shifter / rear derailleur combo are still serviceable. This is a great core package to get someone going on a killer pedalable, freeride bike. Here are some pics and call me at 714-222-5149 if you’ve got questions. The downtube protection was from when I had a Fox 40 mounted up. I rubber cemented a portion of a High Roller 2.35. It's not currently on the bike. Oh yeah, the King headset and Hope seat clamp are not included (unless you want them for an additional $105). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
