Just ask them to pricematch. Never had an issue and they know the're a bit overpriced on some things. Never had them say no or that they couldn't do it.

If you just were quoted a lower price at another bike shop, such as The Path...why would you go somewhere else? Buy the stuff you want at the place that OFFERS you the part at a lower price - that's good service. Basically, they're squeezing everything they can out of you, unless you can find it better somewhere else. The price matching thing pisses me off. Screw those places that brag about price matching! They're hosing you as long as they can! In my book, that's bad service.

I do agree. They are hopping that the average sucked wont think to price match. You cant trust anything anymore you just have to do the research.

Hello! Many shops offer mail order (including The Path, Adrenaline, etc.), and some even offer free shipping for spending a certain amount. I don't believe Jenson normally does that. This is another topic, though.

While I appreciate your opinion, I was just pointing out his right to choose an LBS to shop at. I have been to the Path many times and they have always treated me very well, so please don't take this as an attack against the small LBS, I was just saying that for his case, Jenson is his LBS. Im sure ghixon has other reasons, maybe his relationship with Jenson is as good as ours with the Path. Last I checked this was America, land of capitalism, and freedom, or does peer pressure rule around here?

I live approx. 75 miles from The Path so it becomes a moot point to me.

Besides, they're a business. It's not like they're UNICEF or anything. Sorry for the Joe Dirt reference.

I don't shop exclusively at The Path either. There have been many times where The Path and other fine shops have quoted MSRP or close to it, and so I simply go elsewhere. We all gotta do what we gotta do, and everyone has their own reasoning.

ghixon, if you like to haggle, by all means, do what you gotta do to get the best price for the amount of convenience you're willing to sacrifice. I didn't mean to imply that you shouldn't haggle - it's just not my thing.

that's cool, The Path is a great shop, everyones pretty cool, and very helpful, but frankly I dont give alot of these shops much business most of my major parts I get used...I have not bought a new bike frame in 10 years...

Don't worry Lee - your not going to offend me by pointing that out. I just wish we had a Path-like store out in the IE. For me, Jenson's is the closest that I trust out here and has always done good by me.

I've met Tani a few times at rides and he always chimes in with good advice here. I just can't drive the 75 miles and to top it off, I'm impatient... Jenson is just "down the street" sorta.
