Shop clear-out sale. All items well-kept and in excellent condition.
Many items previously listed have sold. This post has been revised to reflect the sales. 1) Curtlo Solo Mountaineer custom steel SS (26" wheel), mullet brakes (V-brake rear, disc brake front), fresh deep red w/ gold flake powdercoat. "Medium" would describe this frame's geometry -- 18" seat tube, 23.25" eff top tube, 16.75" chainstay, 71 deg HA. Manitou Minute 1:00 fork. Full build spec listed later in this thread. Asking for $1100 shipped. Will entertain other reasonable offers. "Reasonable" means you recognize that someone won't find a full SS bike anywhere with this sort of frame and ride quality, and this sort of parts spec, at anything close to the $1100 price. There is a tiny pair of dimples in the top tube of this Curtlo frame. They are from a brake lever striking the top tube when the handlebar spun around. I have attached close-up pictures of the two dimples. 2) 2003 Marzocchi Dirt Jumper II fork. 3) TIRES!! Lots of tires. In the barely-used category: Maxxis Mofo DH 2.35 front and rear; Kenda Nevegal 2.1 and 2.35 (xc casing); WTB MutanoRaptor 2.24 and WeirWolf 2.5; WTB TimberWolf 2.7 DH casing. 4) Assorted stems, handlebars, hubs, rims. Prices and photos to follow. PM me if you want a jump on things. All items will be packaged carefully to prevent damage in shipping. PayPal, USPS Money Order, or Cashier's Check from established bank will be required for payment. |

I'd be asking $1100 shipped.
Here's the parts spec: Curtlo Solo Mountaineer frame (True Temper OX Platinum) Salsa Flip-Lock seat tube collar Salsa Shaft seatpost (not the heavy Titec one shown) Bontrager FS+10 RaceLite Ti saddle (not the WTB one shown) FSA Orbit XL II headset Thomson 100mm stem Answer ProTaper 27 x 2 riser bar Avid Speed Dial levers Avid mech disc brake front, 185mm rotor Avid SD-7 rim brake rear ODI Lock-On grips RaceFace Turbine LP 180mm crankarms Salsa DH chainring, 32 teeth RaceFace Evolve FR ISIS bottom bracket SRAM chain ACS 20 teeth freewheel Sun 0 Degree XC red anodized rims 14 gauge spokes Shimano disc front hub Surly flip-flop rear hub choice of tires Crank Bros Candy SL pedals (not the Mallet C shown) There is a very small dent in the top tube from where the brake lever struck the top tube when the front wheel + handlebar twisted around in a crash several years ago, well before it got the new powdercoat. Not a functional problem, just an aesthetic one. Most people have to have it pointed out to them and do not see it. This frame was designed for a 160 lbs rider and probably shouldn't be used by anyone over 180-190 lbs unless he/she is a smooth rider. It provides a great balance of vertical compliance but sturdy at the bottom bracket when under power, the type of balance that is found only in custom steel frames. |

Price is $2800 + shipping cost
I couldn't tell you the miles, I don't use a bike meter. It was new in July 2007. I rode it for the 2d half of July, all of August & September, and for about 8 days in October. Maybe if you tell me why you want to know the mileage, I can answer your concerns. |

Mileage won't tell you those things. The bike is under 1 year old. As a general rule I cannot ride from November through April because of snow and ice on our trails. I got it in late July 2007 and I rode it for about 2 months total. I weigh 150 lbs. Turner stands behind their bikes. What sort of "fatigue" issues are you really trying to sort out here, Gabe? If you're considering buying a bike over the internet you obviously must know that (1) mileage won't tell you anything about aluminum fatigue; and (2) you're not going to be able to assess aluminum fatigue before you buy the frame. You can't even assess that if you see it in person, unless you have access to metalworks places which can do fluoroscope tests or the like. Please don't waste my time and the time of others viewing this thread. If you want to know something about the Sultan, ask a question that can provide good information. |
