Default Large 29er Single-Speed

Hey all out there. Looking for a 29'er ss for my 17 yr old neighbor. Nothing fancy, just a basic single-speed. Rigid or front suspension, either one is great. He's about 6'1" and can no longer borrow my 17" GT singlespeed 26'er cause he is now too damn tall. (I was tired of letting him ride it anyhow!) He is looking to purchase his own bike now. We're both located in San Diego, but can meet up wherever... Feel free to call him directly rgil1990gmail.com or 619-540-0713mobile or reply to this thread.

Thanks,
jonsocal

Allison,

Yo, I'm back and on the bike. It'll be good to ride with you and Justin again soon. I am a couple of weeks out from being able to really complete a long ride, but not too far off. Trying an adventure event at the end of July... (mtn bike, paddle, trail run) I needed something to motivate me to get on the saddle....! I've seen a bunch of the posts and pics. You two are nuts. Justin's waaaay too fast nowadays.

I have him looking at Redlines, GT's and the Raleigh. That motobecane is pretty cool too. Any of those fit the bill. Hoping to find one used for him since he's a kid and all, but if he has to get it new... oh well... . Shoot, if someone has a 26'er single speed in LG or X-LG that would be great too.

SE Bikes http://www.sebikes.com/2008/bike-detail.asp?id=48, known for their BMX bikes has a rigid 29er complete with a msrp of $500. Adrenaline (city of Orange) has them in the shop and I remember seeing a $449 tag on it? Disc brake compatible for a later upgrade. Perfect for those on a budget.

I've got one...07 Gary Fisher rig. I have a Black Cat on order and have just been using the rig as a grocery getter. It is a large and has a Salsa cromoto grande fork on it. Let me know if you are interested. It is in great shape.

Cheers,
Andy

Eric... seriously, it's for my neighbor....!! (I feel like I'm telling the guy at the liquor store.. hey, this girlie mag is for my friend...) Though your 55er is pretty damn cool. If I was looking at a hardtail, that would be the one!

What is his price range? Raleigh, Redline, KHS, all good choices.
