Don't forget that 8 speed shifters will work fine with a seven speed setup. Opens up your options considerably.

I have a pair of circa 1992 Shimano LX brake levers with 7-speed integrated rapid-fire shifters. Will trade for a 4-pack of any Dogfish Head beer. Pick up in Venice Beach.

I also have a perfectly good, nothing special rear wheel with 7-speed hub/cassette. Specialized rim with LX hub, I think.
