You'd be suprised how the Medium fits. I'm 5' 9" and I consider myself at the upper edge of what the medium will fit. If you're local and want to try one out, I could build one up for you to test ride.

Scruffy - how tall are you?

I'm also 5'9 and ride the medium comfortably I think with around a 90mm stem. 30" inseam. Standover isn't the best on my Dos simply due to the chain stay suspension, but it doesn't cause any problems.

I'm most interested in the blue El Mariachi. I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam. Mmm. The ST seams longish but the standover is low. The TT on the salsa is 23.5 (.4 longer than my small monocog 29er). My Monocog feels longish with a 90mm stem so perhaps I could do this with a 60 or something like that. You've got me thinking...

You may want to take bikeaddict up on the offer to build it up? A bike will handle a lot differently with a 60mm stem than a 90mm.

And trying to make a bike work that is either too small or too big isn't any fun

Duke - I just see "Salsa" and "El Mariachi" on it.

Allison - Agreed. It'd be nice to spin on it to know for sure, unfortunately he's 85 miles away!

Bikeaddict, coming up to the OC anytime soon? I'm trying to think of a reason to be in SD...

Bring a bike or have him bring one and meet in the middle for a ride

Default Just a point of interest???

Why the $349.65??? I can understand bringing in under the $350 threashold... but why the .65 cents? BTW, if I was in the market, I'd snatch the Dos Niner up... but complaints from Ranger Nancy have bike buys on the freeze right now (I'm a realtor and you know how we are all starving!)

I heard a very interesting report / interview on NPR this morning. This made me rethink my pricing policy.

but when it comes down to it, a price is a price, and if someone was like... "man that $.65 is a deal breaker" I might be able to lower the price a little...

I heart NPR. I was laughing at your pricing, too. Not in a bad way, though.

If getting a free ride on a cool bike, possibly followed by a great deal on said bike aren't enough, you gots problems!

at 5'8 I use all large frames and they feel fine with a short stem.80mm or so. Mediums feel to cramped, but I have a 32" inseam so long legs may be why!

Well, for the frame I could go down to $325. If you were looking for a complete bike I would hook you up with parts also.

Let me know.

Thanks,
