Default Shimano M9459 Pedals

i've tried to use others but i've gotten so accustomed to these pedals that I have to have another pair for my bike...right now i'm swapping them back and forth and it would be ideal if each bike had its own. So if you got a pair laying around and want to let em go let me know!

Here's a pic for reference

Have you tried the M540's? I think they feel pretty similar - but might weigh a few more grams.

I love these pedals... I have had them on my bike for about 5 years I think. They are great and bomb proof!

PS: you may not have them...

I think the M540's are listed at 352g - while the M959's are listed at 350g.

I have the 540's on 3 of my bikes. I'll let you try them out next time I run into you.

The 959, 540 and 520 pedals all share the same design as do the new 970 XTR and 770 XT pedals.
The 959 and 540 have fluorine coated bindings and the XTR has teflon coated bindings.
I believe the 959, 540, and 520 are no longer in production in favor of the XTR/XT branding.

Weights (from various sources, so take these with a grain of salt):
XTR 325g
959 346g
XT 352g
540 350g
520 415g

ChainReaction usually has the best prices for Shimano stuff; the XTRs are currently listed at $110.

I like these pedals.
been using them for years w/o any problems at all!
Have a pair of 959's on the Intense Tracer, and the Roady ( Yes, I like to be able to walk in shoes), and the new '08 XT's on the Yeti.
The '08 XT's are almost identical to the 959's. other than color and phillips instead of hex screws, can't tell the difference.

Are you considering the 540's as well, then?

If so, I have a pair just gathering dust since I switched to Time's. Not the prettiest, but they function perfectly. Will also throw in some slightly used cleats if you'd like.

I'll entertain offers between $35.65 and $41.35 (what can I say, bikeadict inspired me ).

Foo, I have a pair of 959s on the road bike that I'm selling. I will take them off if you want and sell the bike san-pedals.

Default 540s are real good.

I have the m540s and they are real good. they are virtually the same thing as the 949s. same design just a little.. LITTLE heavier.

The 520's only weigh 370....a mere 20 grams more than the 540's (According to Jenson & Performance web sites).

I've picked up 2 new, unboxed sets of 520's from The Path out of their parts bin for under $30 w/ cleats......maybe even $15 for one set....it was last year.

I have 959s, 520s, and 647s on different bikes. The 959s feel a little better than the others, but they all work fine.
