Default Ultimate Indoor Stand for $40 at Performance

I ordered one of these in hopes of storing two bikes in the combined living/dining room in my apartment. Worth a shot for $39. They have 17% off on one order for St. Patricks Day, plus you don't have to pay shipping if you have them ship to a local Performance store (they do tack on some $11 "oversize charge", but with the 17%, it kinda evens out). I think my total was around $48.

So this just takes two bikes and lifts them off the ground with the same footprint? Not much of a space saver... But I wonder, could this be used as a repair stand as well? Seems like it could lift the bike high enough to be comfortable.

Do they make one to hold nine bikes?

Did you read this though...off their website:

Ship To Store orders are shipped directly from our distribution center in North Carolina to the store of your choice and may take longer than other shipping options. It may take up to three weeks for the order to arrive at the Performance Bicycle store you select.

I'm a need it now person and I'll pay the extra to know I'll get when I need it or just go to my LBS! Switchback, The Path, Sand Canyon Cyclery or Ladera Cyclery

There is no way I'm going to trust my bikes to anything from Harbor Freight.

Yeah, I've done a ship-to-store order before. It usually takes a little longer, but I'm the same as you in that if I need something right away, I'll go to the local store that stocks it (I like Incycle out here in Pasadena). But with this stand, I still need to clean up my apartment before there's even room to make it fit, so no big hurry.

oh i wanted to mention, free shipping to stores start at 50 bucks... i think that is when it makes a difference... so buy a can of slime or a few extra tubes...

I'm willing to bet that all these products are made in the same place...the only difference is who's selling them.

I got a stand from performance, don't know the name off the top of my head. Holds one bike on top od the other and I bought extra things so I can hold 2 bikes at each level, so I got 4 bikes on there. Takes up a little more space than just one bike. I have heard you can also hang a fifth bike off the otherside.

Have you ever been to a Harbor Freight store?

There's one by my house and I buy stuff there all the time. There stuff does tend to be pretty cheaply made, and the prices reflect that. $15 angle grinder that you'll use twice? No problem! $40 stand made of cheap and thin steel for many thousands of dollars in bikes? Problem!

Just in case anyone is looking for some CB Eggbeaters. Performance had them marked down to $44.00 when I was in there last night.

I have this stand and it works great with thousands hanging from it...that's all I was saying and it holds more bikes for the money. Period end of story.

What would be cooler is if I knew what you said ... I'd like to know? I only know a few words, but definitely would like to know more.
