Default Used prices...

So I've been seeing some amazingly high prices on Craigs List and Ebay. I thought the rule of thumb is 1/2 of the new price? I'm not sure your $700 new bike should sell for $500 after 5 years of use?

Ebay and Craig's list is hit and miss. I was shopping for a Thomson stem and for $5 more I got one at The Path.

who cares what they list it for. what it sells for is all that matters. and right now is the time to buy used toys, not sell them.

Just watch those e bay auctions end with out one bid. But yeah, there is a sucker born every day though. And e bait is a good place to find them. lol

If you're in the midwest where the nearest bike shop only carries BMX and schwinns........$79+ shipping may look attractive.
Most people would rather purchase from ebay than a local shop selling online that isn't local. An item that may or may not be in stock, qeustioning whether it is a legit website, etc. Would you rather buy from an ebay seller with decent feedback listing a specific item you want or through "Bob's bikes" website and entering your credit card info?

yea, true... it is all about location... i know i ship up car parts to my friend who lives up north... (performance car parts) and even with priority bulk rates... it is still lower, alot lower, for me to go and ship it to him... so cal is kinda great like that... if you look for it... you can find great prices everywhere...

Whoever said that you can't put a price on nostalgia clearly hasn't visited Ebay and CL.
