I remember some folks talking about the 661 Launch Taki Shoes - they are on sale at blue sky cycling for $25 (from $80)

They've been that price for a long time. A word of warning: they don't hold up for very long at all. I bought 3 pairs at the $25 price and only wore them casually, never on a ride. I'd say the 3 pairs combined lasted a collective total of 6 months. That's 2 months each, give or take.

You asked for opinions, and mine is that the 510's are without a doubt the best shoe (for flats) on the market. Well worth the price. I've had mine for almost a year and they are still in great shape.

I agree. I had a pair of the high-top dually taki shoes at one point. Super comfortable but the pins on my platform pedals chewed up the soles in no time flat.

Shell out the extra green and get a pair of 5.10s

I just picked up some 5 10's and new pedals at The Path on the way home from todays ride... Hooked them up when I got home and Damn... Kinda like being clipped in.. The 661's are nothing like this.
