I'm looking for a used wheelset for the Surly 1x1 I'm going to be building up (thanks Allison!
). I'm heavy (over 200 lb) and not easy on wheels (about the only thing I've really broken over the years). I'm really hoping to keep a wheelset under $350 or $400 ...In my dreams, I'm thinking Hope, DT Swiss, American Classic, Hadley, Chris King, I9 (the last two REALLY in my dreams ) laced to Mavic 819, DT swiss 5.1, or something similar, a couple of years used but in decent condition. I think I'm optimistic for $400 ... ![]() I'm NOT looking for light weight XC race wheels, or for hideously heavy DH wheels. If you've got something in the garage or have an upgradeitis itch, let me know! --Matt |

Are those rims pinned or welded? Are they more of an XC or AM type wheel? If they were used by Justin, I think I'll pass. I've seen him ride and he goes pretty big IMO.Duc

I'd say AM-ish, but I really don't know. FWIW, I'm running his old 29er wheelset and it's fine ![]() |

Nope, not yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to get out to the next Fontana race to watch you guys. Then I can pick up my calendar from you while I'm there.

No worries, I know you had a lot to deal with and send out. Didn't want to be another added thing for you to worry about. I'll get it when I see you. Or you can give it to Dino since he's a stone throw from me. You can even sell/give it to someone else if you're out and someone wants it.

They are used (not by me).
