Uno, how tall are you? Inseam? I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam. I'm thinking this thing is a little to long for me with a 23.6 TT but it's a killer deal so I'm at least entertaining the idea.

indeed....however, please note that lots of folks (self included) opt for longer top tubes on single speeds as you may know so might be a good experiment

Yeah, good point. I tend to like longer top tubes/shorter stems but I have short legs so standover is sometimes an issue.

This is just my opinion of course.....

I have seen some annoying technical discussions in this regard but i dont care about that crap mostly written from suck ass riders who compensate for the lack of mad skillz by cutting and pasting their favorite mental masturbation quotes from mtbr.....

For me, its as simple as the fact that you are standing a lot and nothing is more annoying than feeling cramped when you are standing up and leaning way forward on a steep climb.....where you want the room to throw your body around and personally, i would rather have some extra bike length incorporated into the design from the frame as opposed to using a longer stem, which has a net effect I dont like too much, or as much anyway

it maybe more of a preference thang than just for SS's. I like shorter TT's than recomended on all of my bikes especially on SS's.

As you said you are standing up more

Man I would be up for that, I got to pay off Craig for the mongoose first. Money is tight but I want a single speed.

you are right....every darn thing on a bike, about a bike, is about preference....seriously.

I prefer to be riding my bike than sitting here in a lame Ottowa hotel typing this message in 10 degree weather

I compared some numbers. I do like longer TT and shorter stems and but I think this frame's too long. =( It's a full inch longer than my Monocog and the standover is a full 2" higher. With my short legs I think this is probably not going to work. Sorry. I wanted it to work because of the killer price.

Damn...this combined with that other 29er wheel deal with Paul's hubs, and you could build a sweet 29er on the cheap!
