Don't forget Jenson has the Zion 737 29er frames for $200. http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/FR405A02-Zion+737+Frame.aspx

I got one for $60 at their parking lot sale just because the HT has a 1/4" long scratch on it.

I'm going to be building it up this week.

The EBB 737's have no deraileur tabs on the back so no, the frame works for a single only.

with a sram rear derailleur and zip ties for the full cable housing and cable you should be able to run 1x9

Rock'inthecasbah,

I think Campbell means there's no deraileur hanger at all. So to run a 1x9 setup you'd have to run a Shimano Saint Rear Wheel and Saint Rear Derailleur. Or possibly a Roloff internal geared hub. I think it might be easier to run a problem solver backstop run a 2x1 setup for more gears.
