I'd most likely jump on his, but I'm afraid a 20"er is a bit too big for me. Good luck on the sale.

(xc, am?) how tall is that head tube (what size steerer is appropriate?)thanks. on a side note, i want to run a 1X8 on this, is there guides that can be mounted w/o a ISCG mount? examples? thanks!

Default Frame still available!

Hey there,

Yeah, still have it. It can be shipped - where are you? Frame is in San Diego, pick up would be great, but will ship if need be.

XC is intended use, but Kona makes bombproof frames and this one can take AM easily - I know I had one just like this one my friend is selling and I beat the crap out of it and it took it with ease.

Not sure about your ISCG question. Will a photo of the BB area or something like that help you out? Also, I'll have to get back to you tonight w/ the head tube measurement. The frame is a 20" and I do know that the HT is fairly long.

PM me with any questions. Thanks!

thanks for the reply. the iscg mount is the 3 hole deal that a guide can bolt to, but since this is a XC bike i bet they just assume the person will run 3 rings. i havnt yet found one that works w/o the mount. im in yucaipa, SD is kinda far from me. let me know about the HT, for me the purchase depend son a non-iscg guide and the HT length. thanks again.

Do you have any idea what the effective TT length is, as well as standover height?

I just checked the Kona site and they pulled '03 specs from their archive. I'll call them tomorrow and see if I can get all the specs directly from them.

Head tube is a hair under 6 inches. With the headset cups installed it's 6.5 inches.

For comparison, my large 5-Spot has a 5 inch HT.

Hope that helps (and isn't too long for you).

No problem. Sorry it didn't work out.

Well, it's back up. Make an offer folks - all will be considered.

If you could shrink it, I might be interested...

TT length will work, but that 32" standover doesn't jive very well with my 30" inseam.

Here!! I'll take it all.

It might be a little big for me, but I'll take it anyways.

EDIT: It should fit! My current TT length is 24", so I should be good.
