Default Newbie to STR

I've been a member of Geoladders for some time now, but I've heard such great things about STR that I had to join! I usually ride 4-5 times/week around the South Orange County area, but I would love to join a group ride in SD County or LA County to explore some new trails. I'm a Sport racer (Cal State) so I'm not blazingly fast, but I can generally hold my own. Let's hit the trail!

Default Chino Hills Ride

Do you know what the mix of riders will be? Will there be mtb biking newbies or will (most) everyone have experience? You see what I'm getting at....

The newbie ride for STR's 3rd birthday will be a HUGE mix of people. There will be really fast people, slower people, and everyone in between. If it's listed as a newbie ride NO ONE will be left behind!!

Hey Doug,

About time you joined this group!

I can't make the next newbie ride but it'd be a good way for you to meet some of the STR people. I'm camping with my daughter with the Y-princesses that weekend. They (we) are pretty friendly and like to have fun.

Speaking of fun, thanks for the pitchers last night at Dailys! Those were some good times after a GREAT ride even if it was short!

Next Wednesday night we'll be riding from "Friends." I'll email you with info tomorrow or Saturday and hope to see you there!

John

just kidding. only silly people would do something like that.
Don't even tempt Doug...He is very strong rider and just might take you up on your offer. He finished 11th in the CC last year!

Default new here too

Sounds like you might be a track racer? I've only been on my MTB for a few months but I have many years of motocross experience... I've been messing around on the dirt jumps over at Aliso for a bit. Did you guys build those?

Maybe a Lake Hodges newbie ride? That would be fun. Gene, get your thinking cap on!
