Hi,

Hope you don't think I'm an interloper! I'll be visiting San Diego from Oct. 28th to Nov. 3rd. and would love to ride with some locals during the week. My friends are attending a conference while I enjoy S.D.

I'm an avid mountain biker from Vancouver, usually downhill North Shore stuff, but also like cross country.

Any company would be great! Favor returned for those who visit Vancouver.

Default Just let me know...

You are more than welcome to join the group I ride with or just let me know when you would like to ride and I can see what can be arranged. We have normal group rides every Sunday, Tuesday, & Thursday. For obvious reasons our longest ride of the week is always Sunday but if you are coming in on Sunday the 28th, it is unlikely that would work out.

What part of San Diego will you be staying in? PM or e-mail me and I'll hook up with you for a ride. I get a couple of rides in during the week that your Knolly (if that's the bike you'll bring) would be best suited for.

Hey, thanks for all the info. Probably bringing my DeKerf hard-tail, due to weight restrictions on Air Canada (possibly the world's cheapest airline). Would love to bring Knolly though...

Staying at the Hotel Coronado. Has anyone ridden The Shore?

That's a good trip! Next time hit Vancouver Island, tons of good cross country there, and the Shore for the crazy, mad stuff, although W. bike park has plenty of difficult trails.

The Shore? At Coronado? Um, no. But there is a nice road bike trail that heads south from there....

Seriously, I'd recommend hooking up with one of the locals from here and be prepared to drive a little ways. The good news is that you can see some of the hills/mountains from there, but I think you'll have to drive somewhere to get in a good mtb ride.

Google some of those trails listed above and see if there are any that particularly pique your interest.
