Anyone know where a Colorado transplant can find a good kickstand for my ride near Oceanside?
I just moved here from Colorado (via Atlanta) in February for my job. I spent the last four-ish years recovering from multiple knee surgeries and commuting from Atlanta to Orange County. Needless to say, I'm happy to back in the saddle and riding again. My problem is I don't really know where to ride here...I could tell you about every ride up and down the state of Colorado, but not here. I've been riding Lake Calavera and Lake Hodges with my dog early in the mornings and reluctant to ride elsewhere with my pup because of 1) water and 2) people's attitude towards dogs on the trail. FWIW, my pup grew up spending the majority of her seven years on the trail mountain biking or skiing the backcountry. So, where can I get a good kickstand for my bike in SoCal? I already stumbled into Adrenaline Bikes; they politely told me they don't carry kickstands. Instead, they hooked me up with this site and a pair of Juicy Ultimates. And was it hot enough for everyone today? Woody |

Adrenalin is the only place in SoCal you can get a kickstand. Go back and don't leave till they sell you the Carbon fiber/Ti model. Tell them just like the one they sold me.
Cal ain't CO, that's for sure. We have a population density that just won't allow for lose dogs on trails. Not fair to the animal or other riders. We just are to crowded here. I'd love to be able to take my dogs out on rides, but realize it's just not practical or safe here. PM PacMan he'll give you the lowdown on trails down that way. Hope to ride with you someday and hear about CO.

Pain Freak...I hear you on the dog thing. I never want to be "that guy", which is why I ride early and solo often...but that's only so much fun after awhile...so it's time to ditch the dog and hit the trail on a group ride.
PacMan...thanks, I will check out the "Trailhead" Forum for rides. |

5280- I'm in Oside. We should hook up for one of the SD rides or cruise up to OC and hit up SanJuanTrail.

I take my dog on a couple of trails in the OC Santa Anas that are generally uncrowded.
I don't take him out right now, but once it cools we'll be going. Welcome! |
