another San Diego rider
Hi everyone. My name is John and I am originally from Virginia but have lived in San Diego for 6 years. My free time is somewhat limited due to two small children and job responsibilities but I manage to hit Penasquitos quite a bit. I live in the Sorrento Mesa area so the trailhead on Sorrento Mesa Blvd is just down the hill.
I have a cyclocross bike for when the trails are too wet (that doesn't happen much) and a 5 inch travel squishy which I ride most of the time. Some of the local area trails I've ridden since I've lived here are Mission Trails, Daley Ranch, ATT, Elfin Forest, Noble Canyon, and San Juan. Hopefully I can get together and ride with other STR people. Riding solo is getting to be a real bore. |

Welcome! Make sure to check out the ride calendar for SD rides. We ride at LPQ quite often (tomorrow in fact). There's also a Daley ride on Monday.
Btw, I'm in the same boat as you with small two kids and a job that keeps me busy. Sometimes I think MTB'ing is the only thing that keeps me sane  |

STR's San Diego contingent is growing more and more all the time. As mentioned above, be sure to check the Calendar and the "Trailhead" forum for rides. Welcome! I manage a shop in Poway, and I'll be starting shop rides every Sunday at LPQ. The start time will be around 5:30 depending on if I can kick people out of the store.
 They will continue even when it starts getting dark early. Hit me up for more info if anyone else is interested. So...  to SD!Ben   |

Welcome!
Not sure what your skill and endurance level is but I don't have either... So if your looking for beginner or light intermediate social rides come on out. I'm over in the Poway area but I can get to most of the trails around you in 20 min. I have two jobs and one baby that all keep me pretty busy but I get out when I can because it is the only thing keeping me from going crazy...  Again welcome to the growing SD click. I just noticed your user title. It doesn't hurt to have some UNIX/Linux geeks out on the trail... |
