yep, we have a truckload of good trails to ride. My wife & I pretty much have different areas to ride depending on the weather, time of year, etc. Good place to live & train. (well, she trains, I do my best to keep up) When it gets cold we move down the mountain, Pinyon, Palm Canyon, ect. Right now higher is better.

Right now the trails are not in the best shape, but hopefully we'll get some rain soon & the duff will morph into the tasty ribbons of trail it once was!

Thumbs up Welcome grasshopper

As soon as the weather changes a bit (rain) and the trails firm up, we'll proably organize an STR ride in your neck of the woods... would you be willing to lead us on some awesome trails?? Many of us have ridden your area... but I'm sure that you know secret stuff.

BTW: I use to race against Bud (way back when) and would come up and ride with him from the shop. Is he still riding?

mtber3737-- Wow! ..used to race with Bud? That's cool points in my book! He's still riding, leads the saturday morning rides... 8am. The only 76 year old singlespeeder I know! I'd be happy to lead a ride sometime.

Carbonman-- the "big rig" you refer to: is that a tandem? My wife & I ride an off-road tandem on our trails from time to time.. It's REALLY fun!

The Saturday morning rides start at 8am at the Bike Stop in Idyllwild. Slow, social pace. We make a point of it to do those rides every now & then. When we have a free day, we'll go out on the morning ride (which takes place on the trail network behind the Arts Academy) then we head out to May Valley & ride some harder stuff.

and what's the "thanks" all about?

Good to hear that Bud is still riding. We use to argue the merits of single speeds... now we both ride one.

BTW: the "Thanks" are a way of saying "thank you" for the post or the info. Makes people feel good... just like the smilies.

And, is there a "Brendan" discount?
If so, I'll tell you what it means in olde Gaelic.
