Newbie. Whatup!

Sup? Another newb here. Well actually I'm kind of a veteran who's just taken a 10 year break from the sport... or I guess you could say I'm a recovering lazyholic. I raced BMX, worked in many bike shops, and raced a lot of X-country back in the day. My last XC race was probably sometime in the mid 90's. That's about the time I moved out on my own and picked up the beers, buds & women. Whatever, I'm back and I've been riding my bike at least 4 to 5 days a week for the past couple of months now.

I was at the newb ride to Beeks last week with you guys. Much thanks to those who set that up! Climbed up, drank 3 cold ones, met some cool people, picked up some crap, and rode back down. I spotted a Bobcat on the climb up too.
I ride a blue 1996 StumpJumper and probably will continue to ride the beast until it breaks in half or until I win the lottery. Fawk, this sport is expensive.
My name is Jake. I do most of my riding in the OC area. I've been posting on Geoladders as c('.'c). I plan on doing a few races next season and maybe even some of the crazy endurance rides like Counting Coup & Vision Quest.
Well, that's about it. I like the site. See you guys out on the trails.

Glad to hear you're thinking about the Vision Quest/Counting Coup... you'll need to start training for this right after the first of the year & there's plenty of guys & girls on this board that participate.

I'm glad to hear there might be some other people to ride with on some of those trails off Main Divide. With all of the wildlife in the news I feel more comfortable riding with someone on those trails.
Gene, thanks for setting up the Beek's cruise man. Cool that there's going to be some newb rides coming up too. I'd like to get my wife and a few friends out on the trails.
