Im not new to mountain biking , Been doing it scents 1986 but after a bout with a poor fitting bike , I gave up riding in 2001 , At that time I had a bare frame that needed to be built-up but it took 2 yrs to get it rideable by then life had dealt a few blows , Final getting to ride again last year I was once again riding.
Problems now are Im WAY over weight and my legs are noodles and Im old making riding not so enjoyable...So again I stoped riding .....Until last week when I was looking at my bikes on the wall and got the itch,,,

Questions : How do I get back into the groove again , Lose some weight and enjoy the trails ?

Anyway Hi to all you so-cal members
and a special note : Watch out for that CPATCRASH guy
Hes way nicer then he appears

Get get out and RIDE. Don't over do it and gently push yourself. You will be back in no time

That's a very rare Mantis too. I bought it from The Bike Beat back in the day and it was one of the ones RC built. It even has the rivited cable guides. The rear is origional as well.

Ride the BBQ chumba and save the Mantis!

I have to say its the best bike Ive ever owned and I still ride it now & then Im just more careful with it.

nowadays
The BBQ bike is going to be the main ride

Ive wanted to put Barney ( the older chumba ) back together just to ghost ride it off a cliff...WORST bike I ever had..16" seat tube with 21" top tube The guy this was made for has to look like an ape ( short legs LONG arms )

And I think the top tube is 23 1/2 to 24 if you measure it effective.
