Biking shorts and Camelbak are probably the next most important in my opinion. Then gloves then bike jersey (you can use any athletic 'dryfit' type workout shirt until you get a jersey).

Keep an eye out for sales at like Performance or email Nema in HB and they have company sales once in a while....
Another option is Steepandcheap.com or Campmor.com they also carry discounted clothes

As long as you are shopping online you might try Price Point
Price Point - Discounts on Mountain Bike and Road Bike Parts, Accessories and Cycling Clothing You can also check your local Bike Shops... Most have a discount rack from last season/year... That way you can actually try the stuff on..
