Talking New to the Forums..Hey everyone!

I'm new to the forums and new to mountainbiking in general. I've only started within the past few months, and I have been addicted ever since. I've ridden Aliso Woods, El Moro, Whiting Ranch, and Peter's Canyon.

I wouldn't call myself out of shape, but then again I'm not in triathlon shape either. In any event I'm looking for some riding buddies and am looking forward to meeting everyone on the forums for some good times on the trails!

Are there any regular riding groups out there in OC?
Nice to meet everyone!

welcome! look around the forum for a while and you will see that the guys and girls here ride often if not daily. plenty of rides with both small and large groups to get in on. I am in RSM just down the road from Whiting.

Welcome, you will find lots of riding buddies. There is always group rides and people from all over. Sounds to me that you're in my neck of the woods. I ride all of the same trails as you plus a few others.

Hey, Clockwork! Thanks for the welcome! Are there any good places to ride in the South Bay? I work around the area and would like nothing more than to pass rush hour by mountain biking.

Welcome!!! If you click on the calendar tab there are rides posted on there, just rsvp and youre good to go. If you need directions to the trailhead just ask. It sounds like the Fully loop night ride is right up your alley.

Additionally, your LBS (Local Bike Shop) may host occasional rides, might consider asking them.

There's a ride every Sat morning at the Oaks? I was just saying that I haven't been there in ages (even before the fire) and need to get back.

Like they said above, check out the Trailhead. I think the Bike N Beers Ride is coming up; nice easy going ride with lots of other local riders (you don't have to drink, but given the company, you may want to-- ).

Patrick, if you're looking for out-of-shape riding partners then we'll have to connect! I ride the same places as you - Whiting, Peters, Aliso, Oaks, etc. - 2-4 times per week, yet somehow I'm still horribly out of shape (don't anybody dare to suggest it has to do with being a chocoholic or with my spending days at a time at this desk!). I'd be happy to meet up with some new folks for a ride.
