Technically the only "Cool" guy here is ShinKen, but we all like to ride and we aren't that bad.

Hey Marshall,
Welcome I am somewhat new as well. Used to be a real old school BMXer. I say that because I am now 34 ahhh I hate getting old, really I do. Hey that Fullerton loop ride looks hella (yes I did say Hella) fun. I think I will be down for that this week if you guys have it again. I work in Anaheim so I can just cruise by after work. |

Haven't ridden a thing in a while... like years. Looking to start FR or XC, but really itchin to DH someday. The skills/balance are mighty rusty, so any fellow riders may have to bear with.
I haven't ridden in years, so def rusty on the skills/balance. Looking to XC or FR, but itchin to eventually DH, if I can muster the nuts. Last edited by MixtMarshall; 04-30-2007 at 11:31 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

In the short time that I have been riding XC MTB. I have notcied that if I never have written BMX and overall had bike skills as a kid, I think today as I ride XC I think I would have crashed more. I know for a fact me being comfortable on a bike period has helped me from certain possible crashes.

Welcome!
Buena Park resident here. This seems to be the message board for old-school BMXers. MixtMarshall, your BMX skills will certainly help your MTB riding. I also grew up racing BMX, and I still use everything I learned back then. And I still crash just as badly. I ride XC, FR, DH, and still have a 24" BMX bike that I haven't ridden in...well...a long time. Shaggin, I didn't know you live in Anaheim. Hmm...now that we have a decent size group in north OC, we could do some "urban" rides, terrorizing the neighborhoods and malls. Quote:
I still don't understand exactly what FR is. I think I do it. ![]() Last edited by 2wheel_lee; 04-30-2007 at 01:34 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Yes, they are shuttled...you get in your truck and shuttle to the trailhead. The loop has some hills (both up and down), and when you're done, you end up at the bottom near your truck again. ![]() |
