Default Greetings and Salutations

Just a quick note to introduce myself to the group...
Live in LA - ride primarily on the weekdends in the San Gabriels.
Strawberry - Chilao - Five Deer and Echo/Lowe are my most frequented rides (not counting Sullivan Canyon which I try to ride at least once a week in the morning before work).
I work hard and play hard.
No comittments outside of my career (not married - no kids (last I checked) and all my family are back on the East coast - so I can/do tend to travel on a moments notice and have at least one day each weekend (when I'm here in LA) for riding.
I just traded in my Trek 6700 Hard Tail (after four hard earned years) for a full suspension tricked out Titus Moto-Lite and I'm loving it.
Don't have too many friends who ride consistently and am tired of riding alone.
I'm looking to hook up with some folks who have skills - are in shape and can push me on the trail beyond where I am now (always room for improvement and with the new dual suspension downhill is a whole new game).
Hobbies include - traveling - snowboarding - scuba and mountain biking - I see a ton of movies - attend a lot of festivals and like the vino.
Look foward to meeting new peeps and learning new trails.
Michael

Thanks. I've hit Echo/Lowe often - although I have not been there in about three months - I love that trail.

I hear there some good riding up there. Haven't made it up there yet, but I'll be there this year for sure. Let us all know when you're planning on ride.

Yo - Too bad I can't make that ride this Saturday. You definitely sound like my kinda peeps! (mtn biking, scuba, snowboarding, vino,)

I ride up in the Santa Monicas during the week and usually like to go further away on weekends but am still learning about the good trails. Let's definitely meet up for a ride, local or weekend.

We'll catch Chilao next time - it's a default tail and I'm sure this board will eventually get bored with me posting the ride over and over again...

I live in LA near Park/La Brea (about 5 blocks East of the Grove).

The only local rides I know are Sullivan Canyon and the Backbone Trail - I'd love to learn more. My limited experience in the Santa Monica's is that the rides are short and steep so I tend to ride there on weekdays or when I'm pressed for time - on weekends I like to take on bigger rides which inevitably almost always leads me into The San Gabriels.

I've always wanted to ride in The OC as I've heard a lot of good things about it but haven't had the opp or peeps to ride it with.

Ok... Now it's time to deal with 4.5 hours of sleep - that burger I shouldnt of eaten last night post 2am (or was it the large fries...?) and some singeltrack with my name on it...

Welcome Michael, I live in the San Gabriel Valley and we got a group of guys who primary rides the Gabrileno's. Well maybe we can get a group sometime next weekend. Most of the guys are comming back from Arizona as of now. Oh yeah, we just did Sullivan to Backbone today. Weather was Excellent with very little hikers on the backbone.

Tin

Thanks for the shout out.

Sullivan is one of my favorite trails in the Santa Monica's. I've hooked it up with Backbone a couple of times.

Chilao was amazing on Saturday. I rode with a buddy and Rossage (whom I met off this board) and one of his buddies - really good times and we matched up well.

Would love to hook up with you guys this weekend or next.

My thoughts lean toward Strawberrry or Chilao (again) but that's all I really know out there and what's not to love about either of those rides...?
