spookydave,
I first tried to "hook" her with my hardtail dirtjumping/play bike (with only a 38t chainring up front), and she seems to like riding, so I've had my SLX sitting around that hasn't seen much use at all (I built up a singlespeed right afterward, and the SLX was kind of forgotten). And one of my biggest problems is that I never get around to selling stuff, so I have a ton of really nice parts that don't have much use. The SLX has some sweet parts on it: older CrossMax disc wheels (non-UST), Hayes discs, 2003 XTR stuff, and a Minute 3 fork. Since the 5th Element shock is kind of heavy, I replaced it with an RP23 (I had to buy that, but the price was right). Heck, if I needed to, I'd be happy to ride this bike! We'll see how long her interest lasts. I can always keep the bike. ![]() |

Welcome Lisa, as you'll see we have a pretty good size womens group here too. There is a Lady's Forum, but George won't let me in it, but Sharky does throw out some porn once in a while, but it's not the kind we guys like.

Welcome aboard Lisa, with the time change around the corner I will be riding El Moro or Aliso Tuesdays and Thursdays after work.
I do not know why Mr. P. Freak knows so much about the Women's forum. I tried to sign up as Steven Jackson's sister Stephanie, but for some reason my account was cancelled. Dean

Lisa,
![]() When do you get out on the weekdays? I usually have Mon and Thurs off and try to get a morning ride in, let me know if you can ride. Lee--let me know if that gf of yours wants a singlespeed, I need to sell my KHS soft tail (it has a Bomber shock, so there's some cush). And what the hell is up with sheltering her from SJT? You pushed me down it after I had been on my bike for only a few months.....guess that's the diff between friends and gfs ![]()

Welcome to the site....I myself just recently joined as well, although I know quite a few people on the forum. There's a ton a great people and rides out there, so feel free to just throw out a day, place & time you'd like to ride and I'm certain you'll find company. FYI- Now that the time has changed; there's a Share ride every Tuesday night in El Moro @ 6pm. You don't have to be a member...all are welcome...and there's usually a pretty diverse group of fitness levels & abilities. They meet at the top gate on Ridge Park. Cheers- Scott ![]() |

At that time, your skills were a lot better than hers are now. And what do you mean I pushed you down? You fell down that ravine all by yourself! And man, that was a nasty fall! But that was your second or third time there, right? didn't you have the red Specialized at that time? If that were me, it would have been a hospital trip...again. |

THAT fall was probably my second, and it made the MTBR site--I'm changing my name.
Not wanting to copy CrashMaxwell, I'll need something new, fresh, different, yet something that expresses my notoriety for that crash, the one at the Shimano Sprint Series, VQ, and the others that I've forgotten after being hit in the head too many times ![]() I'd sure like to find something else that I'm good at ![]()
