Downhillross13,
I like your sig about the Hemi. I was thinking of getting a license plate frame for my Dodge that says, "Yeah, it got a Hemi...about a mile back" - I have the Cummins engine, and I'm going to install a bigger turbo in the next week or two.

Yo LFB, I'll race that cummins with my Hemi dodge stop light to stop light.

Man, that sounds bad. I wish you the best in your recovery.

After the first couple weeks after my crash and the first surgury, my doctor gave me the doom-and-gloom future of my wrist. I was so depressed. The only positive thing he said was that the nerve damage in my wrist (that he supposedly fixed in surgury) should be back to normal in two months. Wrong. In my case, I couldn't feel most of my hand, but it hurt like nothing I've ever experienced (and I've experienced a lot!).

The next doctor I had was all positive that I should overcome most of the issues within a year. It's about a year now, and I have poor range of movement, which he expected. I still have to go back to get something checked (I don't like talking about the "something" to see if it's healing right). The nerve issue lasted for about 7 months, and even still has some issues when my hand is in cold water. Otherwise, I think I'm doing OK.

I hope you have faith in your doctor, since the outcome depends greatly on their ability to fix you up.

I haven't found the carnage section you referred to, but I'm not sure I want to.

Since you sound like a cool guy, I assume you have a good base of friends who support you. I was fortunate as well, including a few friends on this board (Chelle, Neccros, and Let_Rides, sorry for the misspelling Lety).

If I could offer one piece of advice it would be to be positive. Oh, and mixing Uncle Vic (vicodin) and a little alcohol isn't so bad. j/k

Hmm...it's hard to change lanes after thinking about that.
Nerve pain is a B!*ch ain't it. They started me on uncle Vic then put me on his big sister Perci (percoset) then on Momma Mo (morphene), which I'm still on. You know its bad when you still feel pain after 30mg of morphene.
I am being treated at UCI by a great nerve guy so hopefully all goes well.
When I wrecked I shattered the handlebar, and broke the seat but other than that the bike made out better than I did. The damage that was done is all fixed thanks to people on this board (special thanks again to Neccros, and Kid A) and I have also gotten a lot of support from friends and family (thanks again Pakhia).
Below are some of the pics from the crash, for your viewing displeasure.

SAR_boats,
uh...

uh...

uh...

I don't know what to say.

One thing I learned about nerve damage is that morphene has no effect on pain (even in VERY high quantities) - for me, anyway. They also gave me stuff that they said was 10x more potent, but it didn't help.

Best wishes to ya!
