Default Intro, bike build, and pics

All right, so my buddy Jordan (Jordansrealm) say to me, "Hey Matt, you should get a Mountain bike and ride with me, its fun and a great work out."

I think Yeah right whatever, "I'll think about it"

So Jordan links me to all the forums and shows me all the videos, and I think to myself, "riding a bike is fun and even though it will cut into my ass on couch time I should really get back out there and be active again." After getting out of the Army 6 months ago after an 18 month deployment, I pretty much did nothing but work 60 hour weeks and it was killing me.

So I did some reading and decided on the Santa Cruz heckler frame. Then went over to The Bike Company www.bikeco.com talked with Kevin for a while then handed him the Visa card and said "hook it up" 1 week later this is what we have.

Large 06 Black ano Heckler W/ DHX coil
Marzocchi Z.1 light ETA fork
Syncros tires 2.5 front 2.35 rear
Sram X-7 derailers and shifters
WTB saddle
Eason bars and riser
FSA Pig headset
Race face evolveXC X-Type cranks
Mavic Deetracks wheel set
Free agent pedals

Oh and I am 26, from Laguna Beach, and haven’t seriously ridden in like 6 years, so I haven’t really had a chance to put the bike though its paces yet just trying to get comfortable in the dirt again.

Default Cool bike.

I was in the bike co yesterday when your buddy was picking up your bike. It looks great, and you will definitely love it. You will have to hit some of the trails in your area up soon. We usually have a group ride going on Sundays. Keep and eye out for them, we post them up on the site.

Thanks I am really stoked on the Heckler, it looks great, Kevein really did a nice build on it. For now I am just trying to get back in to some form of shape, Jordan took me on a 14 mile run last Sunday and let me use his hard tail Specialized with no frun brakes, it was fun and I am still hurting from that run, I rode for about 40 mins today up near Alta Laguna park and the legs were screaming on the hills.

Man, to be starting out with a bike like that? What a great way to start. Nice bullet proof build.

Sure thing, I can tell you right now that I really like it! the lock out feature is really nice for the hills. The travel almost feel bottomless, I have yet to bottom it out. Give me time.
